Crow’s Feet Are For The Birds

Posted by: Administrator  :  Category: Uncategorized

Eyes hit the runways at New York City Fashion Week like never before. Today more than ever, eyes are the most important facial accessory. Trends suggest that this fall, we’ll be seeing a clean face – free of make up with dramatic eyes that boast long extended full lashes, a monochromatic eye shadow and a coral glossed lip.

However, pulling off this simple, but glamorous look is next to impossible if your eyes are not in great shape.

Believe it or not, the lower eyelids are one of the first places to show signs of aging – revealing your true age. Crow’s feet as well as loose skin and lax muscles, excess skin and fat bags, plus dark circles around the eyes can create a tired appearance that dampens an otherwise youthful face. By correcting puffy eyelids and tightening loose skin, you can look rested and refreshed. Now, the latest in office procedures targeted toward the lower lids can even take years off your face.

Using his vast practical and technical experience, New York City Facial Plastic Surgeon, Sam Rizk, MD, FACS, has created an algorithm to appropriately tailor his spectrum of eye procedures to the specific anatomical concerns of his patients. He uses physical findings and the right combination of seven techniques for lower lid rejuvenation including fat removal through inner and outer eye incisions, laser resurfacing and sewing of the lid to narrow the opening.

Not every set of eyelids age in the same way, and genetics plays a role too. If your eyes aren’t sparkling like they used to, you might want to consider a consolation with an expert like Dr. Rizk to see how the signs of aging can be reversed. Goody Walks the Runways of Paris Fashion Week!

Home to the most anticipated Fall Fashion shows of the season, Paris Fashion Week did not disappoint! Using the always-chic and versatile Goody® Classic Collection Jenna Barrettes, renowned hairstylist Guido Palau used his magic to create unique looks on the legendary runway of Alexander McQueen as well as the Milan-based Prada show.

To complement Alexander McQueen’s “Ice Queen” theme, Palau covered the models’ heads with Goody® Jenna Barrettes for a modern Tron-worthy “helmet”.

If the above look is a bit too strong a statement for your taste, check out a more subdued way to wear the same barrette below.

Guido also brought the barrettes to Milan Fall Fashion Week and kept it simple at the Prada 2011 Fall Show. Securing hair into a low ponytail with the Goody® Jenna Barrette, Guido then cut models’ hair to create a feminine version of the sideburn! This softened the look with wispy pieces around the ears.

Comic book junkies (and makeup fanatics) rejoice! MAC has teamed up with superheroine icon Wonder Woman for the brand’s limited edition spring 2011 Wonder Woman Colour Collection. Known for its bold, deeply pigmented, and often theatric colors, it seems only natural that MAC has joined forces with the ultimate symbol of feminine power and uninhibited confidence.

Of course two key color elements are Wonder Woman’s signature blue and red. We are currently obsessed with The Spirit of Truth Nail Lacquer, a high gloss deep shade of navy, that strikes the perfect balance between fall and spring shades with just enough vibrancy to work for either season.

Slimmer Legs by Spring Break?

Posted by: Administrator  :  Category: Uncategorized

An estimated 90 percent of the female population is affected by the dimpling peaks and valleys called cellulite. The plaguing C word can be spotted on even the fittest and thinnest set of thighs, so what’s a gal to do to solve the cottage cheese effect? Vichy interviews Dr. Ranella Hirsch for the answers to the cause while offering up a potion poised to firm and tighten for less jiggle in the wiggle.

Although exercise and a balanced diet are clinically proven to help maintain a healthy weight, these can only do so much to prevent this stubborn problem which affects women of all shapes and sizes.

Here, Dr. Ranella Hirsch, noted Boston dermatologist, explains the facts about cellulite:

Q: Who does cellulite affect and why?

Dr. Hirsch: Women are more predisposed to the appearance of cellulite due to the vertical nature of the fibrous bands binding the fat, which is in contrast to the more net-like appearance of the bands found in men. Also, since women generally have thinner skin than men, we more commonly encounter this frustration among women. Indeed, cellulite remains among the biggest complaints I receive from women on a daily basis. They tell me that what they find particularly frustrating is that no amount of gym time seems to get rid of the bumps.

Q: Which parts of the body are more prone to cellulite and weight gain? Is all cellulite the same?

Dr. Hirsch: The hips, thighs, and buttocks are most prone to cellulite. These areas are where women have a propensity to carry weight gain and are also more resistant to weight loss from dieting.

Slim down just in time for spring break with Vichy’s CelluDestock! This breakthrough cellulite cream is formulated with five percent Pure Caffeine and Lipocidine to reduce the appearance of cellulite in four weeks! Plus, “orange-peel” skin is smoothed after just seven days! Yes, that means you can be bikini ready by March 24!

Bobbi, Peonies & Pythons – Oh my!

Posted by: Administrator  :  Category: Uncategorized

Bobbi Brown sent over her new Limited Edition Peony & Python Palette which is a collaboration between Bobbi and Tibi (one of my absolute faves for a killer dress). Being that animal prints and skins are all the rage (hello my cheetah and tiger) this season on the runways, I think it’s only natural that the queens of natural teamed up and brought us a pinky peonies infused with neutral grays for eye adornment. But of course, my dear. Watch out Peacocks!

“The pinks and purples in this collection are inspired by peonies, my favorite flower. Peonies are lush, decadent and delicate – just like the colors in the limited palette. I’ve also incorporated grey, a color that was big on runways this season. A great neutral, it’s totally versatile and a cool counterpoint to pink. And because I love accessories just as much as the girl next door, I asked Tibi to design a makeup case to match.” – Bobbi Brown

The palette retails for $50 and can be found at Neiman Marcus.
